Karl A. LeBlanc, MD, MBA, FACS, FASMBS, is a board-certified general surgeon and one of the founding members and past presidents of the Americas Hernia Society (AHS). He has a Master of Surgery, the highest level of education one can achieve in this field, and he has been active in minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery since its origin. He helped found the Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship in Baton Rouge and served as the Fellowship Director from 2004-2020. Dr. LeBlanc also serves as the Medical Director for the Our Lady of the Lake Comprehensive Hernia Center.
Dr. LeBlanc has authored eight textbooks on minimally invasive, robotic, and hernia repair surgeries and has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical literature.
