Asthma Summer Camp 2026

Children, ages 6-10, with an asthma diagnosis are invited to our 2026 Asthma Summer Camp, July 6-10. The day camp in Baton Rouge has fun activities and support to help your child manage their asthma effectively. Register now and give your child a summer to remember while learning valuable skills to thrive with asthma.

Electronic devices are not allowed at camp. Please call (225) 439-1883 to check for availability or for any questions.

Below are Required Resource Documents:

Please email the completed forms to holly.leblanc@fmolhs.org PRIOR to the first day of camp.

Camp will be held at BREC Cedar Ridge Drive Park Recreation Center, 13300 Cedar Ridge Ave., Baton Rouge, LA  70808, on Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. each day. Please make certain that you have arrangements made for dropoff and pickup each day.

All campers are required to have their rescue medication (Albuterol, Pro-Air, Ventolin, Proventil), containing a medication prescription label, with them every morning when they are checked into camp. Any child who does not have their medication labeled with their name and prescription from the pharmacy, upon check in, will not be allowed to stay for that day.

We will provide lunch, light snacks and water while at camp. Please feed your child breakfast before camp arrival. Please do not send your child with food or drinks unless they are allergic/sensitive to the food provided for that day. A camp schedule will be emailed to you to view the daily schedule, field trip location, snack and lunch menu, and reminders.

Campers are REQUIRED to wear a camp T-shirt which will be given to them on the first morning of camp, comfortable clothing and tennis shoes each day (no flip flops or sandals). Sunscreen is recommended. Camp backpacks and water bottles are kept at camp for use each day, but campers may take them home at the end of the week. On water activity field trip days, campers should wear a swimsuit (one-piece required for girls), arrive with sunscreen applied and bring a towel.

Children who require one-on-one attention, feeding, dressing or bathroom assistance, or who demonstrate aggressive or destructive behavior, are required to have an aide provided by the parents/guardians. Parents/guardians/aides who need to assist a child at camp must turn in a current background check prior to the start of camp.

Anyone picking the child up from camp must be a licensed driver with a current driver’s license. If anyone besides the guardian or additional pick-up person will be picking the child up from camp, we will need written permission with the person’s name, date of birth and driver's license number prior to the camper being picked up.

Ongoing disruptive behavior can negatively impact other campers' experience as well as the camp program as a whole. It is our duty to ensure a safe environment and quality camp experience. A certain level of cooperation must come from the participants themselves. When negative behavior fails to improve after positive discipline techniques, and staff has requested engagement from the parents/guardians, suspension or dismissal may be necessary.

Call (225) 439-1883 with any questions or concerns.
