Eric Clay Joins FMOL Health as Chief Security Officer to Lead Systemwide Safety and Security

Baton Rouge, LA – FMOL Health is proud to announce the appointment of Eric Sean Clay, MBA, MSc, CPP, PSP, PCI, as its new chief security officer. In this role, Clay will oversee the health system’s enterprise-wide security strategy, risk management, emergency preparedness and safety operations, ensuring the protection of patients, team members and guests while advancing FMOL Health’s mission across all ministries.
Clay brings more than 30 years of experience in security and law enforcement, most recently serving as vice president of security services at Memorial Hermann Health System, where he managed security for 17 hospitals and 300 outpatient facilities. He led a team of over 500 certified security and law enforcement professionals, directed a $30 million security budget, and spearheaded technology and operational initiatives valued at over $44 million, strengthening system-wide safety and resilience. His career also includes security leadership experience with The Walt Disney Company and service in the U.S. Federal Air Marshal Service, where he worked to protect national transportation security.

Clay holds a Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Criminology and multiple professional security certifications, including Certified Protection Professional, Physical Security Professional, Professional Certified Investigator, and the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety's Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator. He is widely recognized for implementing innovative security programs, building high-performing teams, and driving operational excellence across healthcare and global security environments.
