FMOL Health | Our Lady of the Lake Hosts Take Back the Night

November 21, 2025

Baton Rouge, LA - Earlier this month, FMOL Health | Our Lady of the Lake hosted Take Back the Night – a free community event focused on raising awareness about domestic violence and offering support to survivors. Consisting of speakers, live music from local church groups, food trucks, and vendors, the evening welcomed families to unite in strength and healing.

“We hope that events like Take Back the Night can inspire healing within our community,” said Chuck Spicer, president of FMOL Health | Our Lady of the Lake. “By standing together to support victims, we can bring light to the darkness of domestic violence.”

Take Back the Night was equal parts education and support and provided a safe space to uplift those affected by domestic violence in the community. The evening was made possible by strong community partnerships with IRIS Domestic Violence Center, Unbound Now, East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, Baton Rouge Police Department and Family Resource Group Foundation.

“We are deeply grateful to partner with FMOL Health | Our Lady of the Lake for Take Back the Night,” said Patti Freeman, the executive director for Iris Domestic Violence Center. “This event stands as a powerful reminder of both the strength of survivors and the lives lost to domestic violence. Together, we honor their courage and recommit to building a community where every individual—and every child who has witnessed or endured the impact of violence in their home—can live in safety, dignity, and hope.”

FMOL Health is dedicated to fulfilling its mission through service. Committed to the core values of Service, Reverence and Love for All of Life, Joyfulness of Spirit, Humility, and Justice, the health system is honored to be a part of this powerful event.
