Baton Rouge, LA - FMOL Health | Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center marked the official construction kickoff of its major Emergency Department renovation project with a construction blessing ceremony on Wednesday, May 6.
The event brought together hospital and health system leaders, team members and project partners for remarks, a blessing of the construction area and a symbolic wall-breaking moment featuring leaders striking a construction wall with golden sledgehammers.
The ceremony marked an important milestone in Our Lady of the Lake’s ongoing effort to reimagine emergency care at the Regional Medical Center, home to the region’s only Level I Trauma Center. The renovation is designed to strengthen access, improve patient flow, expand capacity and better support care teams as they serve patients and families during some of their most urgent moments.
The Emergency Department will remain fully operational throughout construction. The project will move forward in phases to help minimize disruption while allowing care teams to continue providing 24/7 emergency services.
The renovation is part of a $55 million investment in the Regional Medical Center Emergency Department and reflects FMOL Health’s broader commitment to expanding access, advancing clinical excellence and improving the healthcare experience across the communities it serves.
