Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center has announced the election of Mary Raven, MD, as its Chief of Staff. She will serve a three-year term beginning in February 2024.

"The Chief of Staff role requires someone who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care every time, and Dr. Raven is that person,” said Dr. Catherine O’Neal, Chief Medical Officer at Our Lady of the Lake. “I'm excited to see her lead our team with dedication to providing the highest quality care to our community.”

Dr. Raven was born and raised in Rayville, Louisiana. Dr. Raven practices palliative care full time, serves as medical director of the program, helped to develop the first outpatient palliative care clinic in the state in 2014, and enjoys teaching students, residents, and fellows. Throughout her time at Our Lady of the Lake, she has served on multiple committees for Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute, the statewide Palliative Care Interdisciplinary Advisory Committee, and Medicaid P&T Committee. She is passionate about supporting patients and their families through serious illness and participants in multiple research projects investigating the value of palliative care in various patient populations. Dr. Raven is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Care and is a fellow of the American Academy for Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

As Chief of Staff, Dr. Raven will serve on the Our Lady of the Lake Board of Directors while also leading the Medical Executive Committee.
