Todd Genre, FNP-C, Now Practicing at Walker Clinic
February 14, 2023
Todd Genre, FNP-C, a veteran nurse practitioner with over 15 years of experience is pleased to be providing primary care for adults at Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group in Walker. He has worked extensively in hospital critical care areas as a charge nurse in ICU, PACU and ER, and has worked in clinical consulting and sales prior to becoming a nurse practitioner with Our Lady of the Lake.
“I come from a long line of nurses and physicians so my career as a nurse practitioner is a natural fit. My grandmother graduated from Our Lady of the Lake Nursing School (now Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University or “FranU”) in 1935. She treated everyone from every walk of life the same, and her example influences me today.”
Todd received his undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette and his master of science in nursing in 2007 from the University of South Alabama. He is an active member of the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners and has a Nurse Practitioner Certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
“I think what I bring to my patients that is unique is to listen and include them in their plan of care,” he said.
When not providing care in the clinic, Todd enjoys exercising, cooking, listening to music and traveling with his wife, Michelle, who is also a nurse practitioner at Our Lady of the Lake.
He is accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment, call (225) 791-3117.
