February 27, 2024
Our Lady of the Lake Heart & Vascular Institute celebrated 10 years of serving the Baton Rouge community with a special event on February 26. The event showcased Our Lady of the Lake’s commitment to providing the best cardiovascular care to the region and beyond.
Our Lady of the Lake Heart & Vascular Institute officially opened its doors to patients in November 2013. Home to six state-of-the-art operating rooms and 141 private patient rooms, the Heart & Vascular Institute brings the highest level of patient care to the region in a single, healing environment.
“For over 10 years, Our Lady of the Lake Heart & Vascular Institute has been committed to providing highly specialized care to our Greater Baton Rouge and south Louisiana communities,” said Chuck Spicer, president of Our Lady of the Lake Health. “The lifesaving care our team provides every day is invaluable and has become the standard of cardiovascular care in the state.”
Our Lady of the Lake Heart & Vascular Institute is home to distinguished cardiovascular services and procedures. In addition to open heart operations, our surgeons are leaders in minimally invasive procedures, such as robotic surgery and the innovative Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure. The institute also houses the largest structural heart program of its kind in the region.
“The standard of care our patients receive at Our Lady of the Lake Heart & Vascular Institute is truly unmatched, even 10 years later,” said Dr. Denzil Moraes, Medical Director of Our Lady of the Lake Heart & Vascular Institute. “Patients can expect state-of-the-art care every time, whether it’s for critical cases or minimally invasive procedures. We are constantly upgrading our practices, technology and spaces to deliver excellence.”
