FMOL Health | Our Lady of Lourdes Named 1 of 4 La. Hospitals to Earn 6th Straight “A” from The Leapfrog Group

Lafayette, LA – FMOL Health | Our Lady of Lourdes recently was awarded an “A” Hospital Safety Grade by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national non-profit watchdog group focused on patient safety. The sixth straight “A” designates Our Lady of Lourdes as a Straight “A” facility, one of only four hospitals in the state and 64 facilities nationwide to receive the designation.
“We are excited to receive this honor for the sixth straight time, but the greatest reward is what this means for our patients,” said Stephanie Manson, Our Lady of Lourdes president. “This national recognition reaffirms that our constant efforts to improve patient experience and outcomes are making an impact. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
