The meaningful connection between our daily work, each other, our patients and the communities we serve. We see our work as a calling, and whether you work directly with patients or serve in an administrative or support capacity, we all play an important role in healing our community. We’re more than our job descriptions, we are real people who go beyond what is expected to help everyone live healthy, happy lives. We believe when we thrive, our communities thrive.
Inspired by the vision of St. Francis of Assisi and the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church, we extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to God’s people, especially those most in need. We call forth all who serve in the healthcare ministry, to share their gifts and talents to create a spirit of healing, reverence and love for all of life, with joyfulness of spirit, and with humility and justice for all those entrusted to our care. We are, with God’s help, a healing and spiritual presence for each other and for the communities we are privileged to serve.

Base Pay, plus overtime (if eligible), pay differentials, premiums, and incentive or bonus payments.
Our health system has paid above the federally mandated minimum wage for many years and continues to take steps to adjust our organizational minimum wage amount to offer team members a socially just wage.
Each year we review the federal poverty guidelines and adjust the just wage amount accordingly.
A competitive compensation program is another way we deliver on our commitment to our team. All of our team members are paid a wage for the work that they perform. Your pay is determined in large part by job requirements, skills and knowledge that are used on the job along with what other external employers pay similar jobs. Our Human Resources team regularly reviews over 2,500 jobs across our health system as part of our external market analysis. This exercise helps to ensure our organization knows whether its wages are competitive compared to other employers in the market. Adjustments are then made periodically based on the system’s ability to financially afford them within the budget.
We use the following guiding principles for administering our compensation program:
It is important to note that Social Security contributions stop when your earnings exceed the Social Security Wage Base (for 2023 that amount is $160,200) and Medicare contributions will apply to all of your earnings without a cap. If your annual earnings exceed $200,000 in a year, the contribution percentage increases to 2.35% on pay over that amount.
Social Security is the term used for the Old-Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (OASDI) program in the United States, run by the Social Security Administration (SSA). While best known for retirement benefits, it also provides disability income and survivor benefits. To learn more, click here.
Medicare is the federal health insurance program created to provide health coverage for Americans aged 65 and older. The Medicare program is comprised of four main parts and is administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Health coverage is one of the most important benefits for you and your family. Health benefits provide significant value through support for and protection against potentially large financial expenses, as well as covering preventive care. We are committed to the health and wellness of our team members by offering comprehensive health care plans. The health plan you choose will be in place until the new year, unless you have a qualifying family status change. Our health insurance plans are administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield.
There are three health plan options available to team members:
Each of these plans are designed to provide you with coverage options that best suit you and your family’s healthcare needs. To learn more about each plan, including premium pricing and coverage details, please reference the Team Member Guide to Benefits.
Network Navigation Resources – Finding an In-Network Provider:
Through a program called “Just Premium”, we offer team members who apply and qualify for financial assistance based on total household income the opportunity to reduce their health plan premiums. Based on the team members total household income (adjusted gross income) and the number of dependents you claim on your Federal Individual Income Tax Return, team members may be eligible to receive a higher subsidy to improve affordability and access to coverage. Details about the just premium application process are communicated each open enrollment period. To apply for Just Premium, download and complete the application and submit it to justpremium@fmolhs.org.

The prescription drug program we offer is administered through Express Scripts (ESI). Your cost is determined by the tier assigned to the prescription drug product. Medication Copay Savings and Personal Service Offered Through RxONE
RxONE is our FMOLHS-owned, in-house pharmacy, where you will receive reduced copays for prescriptions including mail order/90-day prescriptions and specialty medications. In addition to discounts, RxONE offers team members personal service through their in-store or curbside delivery options, faster fill times, immunizations and ease of access to our pharmacists. Take advantage of these cost savings and personalized service offers by selecting RxONE as your pharmacy of choice. Find a Location here.
We offer our team members the ability to set aside money through payroll deductions on a pre-tax basis to a Medical Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA). This account allows you to pay for out-of-pocket health care expenses, such as deductibles, copays, coinsurance, prescribed medications, dental expenses, vision expenses, Lasik and more. By paying for these expenses with pre-tax dollars, you reduce the amount of your taxable income and increase your take-home pay. Any dollars in an FSA account at the end of the calendar year must be used or you will forfeit those dollars.
For those team members enrolled in a Health Savings Account (HSA), a Limited use Flexible Spending Account (LUFSA) is available to use for reimbursement of eligible dental and vision expenses. If you enroll in the HSA account and also enroll in the Medical FSA, the Medical FSA automatically becomes a Limited use FSA.
You can set aside up to the IRS established limit each calendar year in payroll deductions.
For those team members enrolled in the High Deductible Health Savings Account medical plan and who meet certain other requirements for eligibility, we offer the ability to take charge of your health care spending with a Health Savings Account (HSA). Contributions made to an HSA are tax free and withdrawals for qualified medical expenses are tax free. Your HSA funds can be used for qualified expenses, including those of your spouse and/or taxable dependent(s), even if they are not covered by your plan. PayFlex is the administrator of the HSA and will issue a debit card which gives you direct access to your account balance which allows you to use the debit card to pay for qualifying medical expenses.
For those team members who enroll in the plan, there are two ways to fund your account. We will provide an annual employer contribution to your HSA account in the amount of $750 for employee only coverage or $1,500 for family coverage. In addition to the employer contribution, you can make your own contributions to your HSA account up to the IRS limit. For 2023, individual contributions are limited to $3,100 for employee only and $6,250 for family coverage.
Proper dental care plays an important role in your overall health. We offer dental plans that are designed to encourage preventive treatment, allowing team members to achieve oral health while striving to minimize dental costs. The dental plans are administered by Delta Dental.
The dental plans allow you to visit any licensed dentist, but by taking advantage of the nationwide PPO network you will maximize the value of the plan. You can search the Delta Dental PPO network for a dentist near you by visiting the Delta Dental Dentist Directory.
There are two options for Dental Coverage:
The health of your eyes is an indicator of overall health. Regular eye exams can detect diseases like glaucoma, diabetes, and loss of sight. Vision benefits allow for access to quality vision care. With Critical Illness insurance, you can get a cash benefit even if you’re receiving benefits from other insurance and can use the cash for anything you want or need.

Benefit eligible team members accrue paid time off immediately after their employment begins. This PTO plan combines vacation, individual sick days, and personal days into one account to give you maximum flexibility in scheduling time away from work.

Separate from the PTO program, FMOLHS grants eligible team members holiday benefit time for those holidays recognized by the health system. Because of organizational needs, not every team member will be able to take time off on the recognized holidays. Therefore, team members who are not afforded time off on recognized holidays are allowed to take an alternative holiday at a time approved by their leader and in accordance with the policy. The FMOLHS recognized holidays are: New Year’s, Good Friday, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The amount of time off an eligible team member is afforded for holiday observance is determined according to their FTE status.
FTE Status | Holiday Benefit Time per Recognized Holiday |
---|---|
0.5 - 0.599 FTE | 50% of the 1.0 FTE (4 hours) |
0.6 - 0.699 FTE | 60% of the 1.0 FTE (4.8 hours) |

Bereavement Leave
In the event a benefit-eligible team member experiences the death of an immediate family member, they are granted bereavement leave for up to three days (or 24 hours). Bereavement leave is paid at the eligible team member’s current base rate of pay based on their designated FTE status.
Jury Duty
Any team member who has to take time off to serve on a local, state, or federal jury in response to a jury summons may be eligible for jury compensation from the health system. Jury service compensation will be paid to eligible team members only if the jury service occurs during a regularly scheduled work shift and will be paid at the regular base rate for those scheduled work shifts.
Process for Requesting a Leave of Absence
All requests for leaves of absence must be sent to the Leave Administration and your leader 30 days prior to your leave date. We know that emergencies arise and ask if your leave is emergent to notify your leader and the Leave Administration at least two days after to the start of your leave.

We understand the financial burdens of “pay day” and other high-interest loans and in an effort to support the financial health and well-being of our team members, we have partnered with PayActiv who is an alternative solution to the vicious high-interest loan cycle for team members. PayActiv is a financial solution that offers instant and timely access to earned but unpaid wages to help avoid costly loans and fees while saving for other expenses at the same time.
Through this program, team members are able to access up to 40% of the money they have earned but haven’t yet been paid between their bi-weekly paychecks. It’s not a loan so there is no interest, only a minimal administrative fee that caps off at $5 per pay period and is a great alternative to a “pay day” loan. There are also opportunities for financial counseling at no cost to team members and self-paced learning with trained financial coaches. Click here.
