St. Francis Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program

Welcome to the St. Francis Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. Our ACGME Program ID is: 1202100004, and we are located in the beautiful city of Monroe, LA.

Our program, in the image of St. Francis of Assisi, is committed to providing quality education to compassionate and caring professionals with an aspiration to serve their community. The program strives to provide a foundation which prepares our future residents for careers as physicians and leaders in primary care, with special emphasis on developing effective leaders of multidisciplinary primary care teams responsive to the needs of diverse patient populations.

Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS) emphasizes its commitment to exceptional patient outcomes, quality, safety, access, and value. Our goal is to create and maintain a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment for our residents.

In the three years at St. Francis, our physicians-in-training will receive advanced training in community-based care, exceptional ambulatory care, hospital medicine, comprehensive obstetrics, maternal and childcare, research, population health, wellness and resiliency. We want our graduates to be leaders in our community, activists in medicine, and voices for change. We strive to serve our patients with professionalism and humility and aspire to lead care delivery with service in mind, always accountable to others while being respectful of our teammates, patients and community.

Our diverse and skilled faculty are committed not only to teaching and role modeling, but also to providing comprehensive, exceptional quality, family-centered medical care for the Northeast Louisiana community.

As a program director, I have the best interests at heart for your goals. From day one, I want to know what your plans are for your future, so I can help you achieve those plans to fruition before you graduate from our program. Personally, I am a family physician who does traditional, full-spectrum family medicine and have been residency trained in OB/GYN, psychiatry and family medicine and Fellowship-trained in advanced women's health and operative obstetrics. I believe in cradle-to-grave medicine and take care of the patient as a whole. I take pride in my continuity of care practice which involves delivering my patients (including C-sections) and taking care of their babies and families all together. I want our residents to be proficient in all outpatient procedures and will train them in performing routine deliveries as well as operative deliveries. We are planning to have two fellowships established at St. Francis in the next couple of years, Sports Medicine and Obstetrics.

I look forward to meeting you and learning more about YOUR vision for our future in serving our community together.
