How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in the St. Francis Medical Center Residency Programs! We are excited at the prospect of learning more about you as an applicant and a potential resident.

Applicants are only considered following registration in the NRMP match, and submission of a standard application in Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis with no exclusionary criteria to consider the applicant as a whole. Emails, faxes and phone calls do not increase chances of receiving an interview and AAMC IDs will not be accepted for later review. Please carefully review the application requirements below. This is not an exhaustive list, and additional documents may be required upon submission of your application.

Application Requirements

  • Applicants must be graduates from an AAMC-accredited or AOA-accredited medical school.
  • If applying to Internal Medicine, three letters of recommendation from medical school faculty or practitioners with whom you have worked and who can comment on your personal and professional qualifications are required. One letter must come from an internal medicine physician who can directly address your potential to become an internal medicine physician
  • If applying to Family Medicine, three letters of recommendation from medical school faculty or practitioners with whom you have worked and who can comment on your personal and professional qualifications are required. One letter must come from an family medicine physician who can directly address your potential to become an Family medicine physician
  • A one-page personal statement is required. Any personal statements with obvious use of AI will be discarded along with the applicant’s profile.
  • A passing USMLE/COMLEX 1 and 2 transcript
  • Additional information including a updated CV, photo, and medical school transcript
