Recognized for groundbreaking sepsis testing and a Comprehensive Stroke Center of Excellence, the Emergency Department delivers leading-edge care when it matters most. Supported by a nationally recognized Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Institute and expertise in advanced minimally invasive procedures, it is equipped to serve every patient with excellence.

Community demand is growing, and our facilities must evolve to meet the increasing complexity and volume of emergency cases. The current space, staffed by an exceptional team, was not built for the scale or speed required today.

Emergency Medicine Reimagined

Our Lady of the Lake is investing $55 million to completely reimagine and modernize the Emergency Department. This multi-phase project will:

• Create a clear, efficient path for patients to see progression of care
• Add 20 new treatment spaces to reduce wait times and improve patient flow
• Integrate state-of-the-art diagnostic technologies for faster, more accurate care
• Introduce a healing-centered design focused on privacy, comfort and dignity
• Enhance triage and intervention capabilities for time-sensitive emergencies
• Provide academic training spaces for future physicians and nurses
• Improve navigation and access with parking and wayfinding support
