Fundraise Your Way

Plan Your Own Fundraising Event

You don’t need experience to host an event—just the energy and enthusiasm to make it happen!

Fundraisers of all sizes fuel the advancements in treatment and innovative care offered every day. There are many ways you and your community can support Our Lady of the Lake. There’s only one question: How will you get involved?

  • Step 1: Decide on a Fundraising Activity

Athletic Events: Invite your community softball league or golf team to host a charity tournament!

School Fundraisers: Inspire your classmates to raise money for kids just like you!

Organization & Business Fundraisers: Help kids in our community AND offer a great team-building opportunity!

Virtual Toy Drive: Help us purchase toys that our patients need the most.

Get Creative! The ways to fundraise are endless! No idea is too big or too small.

  • Step 2: Review Our Guidelines and Complete Your Event Application

In the Community Fundraising Toolkit, you will find everything you need to hold a successful fundraiser to benefit Our Lady of the Lake.

Once you have decided what type of fundraising activity you would like to organize, please complete the Community Fundraiser Event Application form (located on the last page of the Community Fundraising Guidelines) and return to Our Lady of the Lake Foundation.

Within two business days of receipt of your application, we will send you a notification of approval for your event.

  • Step 3: Plan and Publicize Your Event

Get started! Once your fundraiser has been approved, use the toolkit to help build your plan. Additional resources, such as logo files and photos, can be provided.

  • Step 4: Host Your Event

Your event is finally here! Make sure to send us plenty of photos for a chance to be featured in future hospital communications.

  • Step 5: Send Funds Raised to the Foundation

Celebrate success! While planning your event, you will determine how to collect donations. Many community fundraisers collect cash, check and online donation using apps such as Venmo, Cash App or Stripe. Once collected and totaled, you can send a check to Our Lady of the Lake Foundation.

Prefer to have the gifts go direct to the Foundation? An online fundraising platform is available for your use. Email ololfoundation@fmolhs.org to get started!

Mini-Pot: A Small Event with a Mighty ImpactSpotlight: Mini-Pot, A Small Event with a Mighty Impact

One inspiring source of support for pediatric innovations is the Mini-Pot Jambalaya Fest, a family fun cook-off that started almost two decades ago and evolved into a fundraiser that’s been making a big impact. What began as a campground gathering has grown into a cherished annual tradition, bringing together families, friends and local businesses to support inpatients.

Over the years, Mini-Pot has raised more than $575,000 to support programs and services that enhance the care experience for children and their families at FMOL Health | Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital inpatient hematology and oncology unit. Proceeds from the event assist in providing transportation to and from camps, camper gear and educational materials. They also fund special moments like transition celebrations, awareness events, memory keepsakes and more — ensuring families feel supported, uplifted and cared for every step of the way.
